Your Summer Travel Packing List
I'm going to France in September, eeeek! I'm so excited! And call me crazy but I'm already planning and prepping. I don't know about you, but I like to do my research. I don't want to waste my money. And I also don't want to take anything that I don't think I'll absolutely want/need while I'm there for 2 weeks. All kinds of things are going through my head. Do I have the right size suitcase? Is my toiletry bag big enough? Are any of my walking shoes cute enough to go from day to night? Oh crap, I don't have a rain jacket! Is it true that people who are lactose intolerant in the States can eat cheese in Europe?! (I really hope so!!!) Everyone's destinations could pose different questions but most likely we're facing a lot of the same ones. So here are some of the items I'm planning to take on my trip with me.
These suitcases have a lifetime warranty, so let's start there. They can get banged up and when I know I don't have to worry about it, I love that! It also features a polycarbonate shell, 360 degree wheels, inside compression pad and dual TSA combination locks. Not to mention, the carry-on has bells and whistles to boot! All the cute colors are fun, too!
I used to think that all packing cubes were the same: they just separated your clothes into the different bags and that was it. Well, I was wrong. These compression packing cubes save SO MUCH SPACE. And each cube is thoughtfully designed to fill out your suitcase perfectly.
I don't know about you, but I hate traditional travel pillows (they suck). When I saw this one I knew I would actually be able to sleep on the flight! Woohoo! It's made with memory foam and rolls up really small for easy storage after use. Finally someone got smart and solved this annoying problem!
I've had the ugliest, most annoying toiletry bag for so long and I'm finally replacing it with this beauty! Not only is she cute, but she's so functional. I absolutely have to be able to hang mine on the back of a door or towel rod in the bathroom, so that feature was a must. I also love all of the pockets, the deep inside, and the water-resistant lining.
Most likely, if you’re traveling, you'll be walking a lot, or spending time outdoors, and you need to stay hydrated. I realized I should probably be prepared with some individual electrolyte packets so I could just throw it in my water wherever I was. These taste great, come in lots of flavors and don't have a bunch of crap in them: just the good stuff.
My absolute least favorite thing to shop for and I'm probably not alone. But this one is cute! It has some coverage but still has that darling cut-out, comes with a detachable strap for when things get more active, and I'm obsessed with the green (but it comes in other colors too)!
Finally a face sunscreen spray that can go over your makeup! And the bottle fits nicely in your bag so you can re-apply throughout the day. I'm obsessed.
This is a more personal choice, but I have to suggest taking books on a trip because this is your chance to escape, unwind and relax ,with a good book (or three). I have read every book by Ruth Ware and she has a new book release set for Summer 2025. So I know what I'll be taking. If you haven't read her books, I highly recommend starting with The Woman in Cabin 10.
I can't believe I've gone this long without a rain jacket, but here we are. And apparently I'll need one for unexpected showers. I'm loving that this folds into a pouch for easy packing and I also really like the classic look. No muss, no fuss.
This is technically a fanny pack but can also be worn crossbody, and when I’m traveling it will be my everyday bag. It’s just big enough for the essentials but also small enough to not be cumbersome.
Alright, I really did my research here. Well actually, a girl on TikTok did it for me. She lives in Brooklyn and walks an average of 25k steps a day. I was afraid that I wasn't going to like what I saw but these are cute and super affordable! Not what I would have expected from Teva.
