How to Customize Your Closet On a Budget

 

While we all may aspire to have a beautiful custom walk-in closet, that’s not the reality for a lot of us. But don’t worry, you can have an organized and gorgeous space at a fraction of the cost of something custom.

How, you may ask?! Well, as a company, we've organized hundreds of closets over the years and that means we've tried A LOT of different products. Over the years, we've built a solid roster of go-to items that never fail to turn a closet into a showstopper. Ready to turn your space into something that both looks great and functions perfectly? Let’s go!

One of our newest finds (and obsessions) are these bikini bags. Let's face it, folding bathing suits and bikinis used to be such a daunting task. But with these bikini bags, each suit is in an easy to grab bag, strings contained, and all lined up. They even make packing for a vacation easier and look super chic lined up in a drawer or in a basket.

Depending on the measurements of your shelves and the look you're going for, there are lots of basket choices out there. But we definitely use these lined Natural Montauk Baskets time and time again. They come in 2 sizes and look great in a variety of different spaces. For labeling, we like to use these neutral bin clips and of course our trusty P-Touch label maker. Adding labels and choosing baskets that fit your shelves perfectly can make any space feel custom and curated.

Need more shoe storage? I mean, who doesn't?! We've been loving these shoe racks because they come in 5 different colors but more importantly, they come in a ton of different sizes. Which lets us mix and match and utilize all available space! They also are really affordable and look thoughtful and intentional when they’re lined up.

We always file fold into drawers, and the best way to keep those rows nice and organized is with tension drawer dividers. There are lots of options out there but we really love these. (Pro tip: always measure the length and height of your drawers before buying).

Is your jewelry always getting tangled or lost? You can't go wrong with these Stacker jewelry organizers. They can fit inside a drawer or on top of your dresser/counter. They have compartments for your rings, earrings, necklaces, bulky and delicate. Thank us later.

If you have clothes that need extra protection, these garment bags are stellar. We also love that you can still see through them. Another layer of protection that clients have been requesting lately is cedar and we like these cedar hang-ups. Just remember to change them every 6-12 months to get the most protection for your knits.
